Overcoming Breast Cancer’s Return — How Family and Community Made the Difference

After 13 years cancer-free, a routine mammogram in 2023 led to a shocking breast cancer recurrence. Initially overwhelmed with self-doubt, I quickly shifted my mindset to action, opting for a double mastectomy and chemotherapy. Scalp cooling technology helped me retain some hair, boosting my confidence during treatment. Seeking support, I found strength in Look Good Feel Better workshops and a dragon boat team for survivors.
