C\u2019\u00e9tait en pleine COVID, mais mon m\u00e9decin m\u2019a tout de m\u00eame donn\u00e9 une requ\u00eate pour une mammographie et une \u00e9chographie. Ce n\u2019\u00e9tait sans doute rien, croyait-il, car j\u2019avais des kystes b\u00e9nins dans les seins depuis le d\u00e9but de la vingtaine, mais il pr\u00e9f\u00e9rait v\u00e9rifier. Or, quand j\u2019ai vu l\u2019expression du technicien en mammographie, j\u2019ai compris que quelque chose n\u2019allait pas.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span>Trois semaines plus tard, mon m\u00e9decin m\u2019a communiqu\u00e9 les r\u00e9sultats et j\u2019ai \u00e9t\u00e9 boulevers\u00e9e. Il a organis\u00e9 une rencontre avec un chirurgien. Puis j\u2019ai eu une biopsie, rapidement suivie d\u2019une op\u00e9ration. Les analyses postop\u00e9ratoires ont r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 que le cancer \u00e9tait agressif, contrairement \u00e0 ce qu\u2019avaient estim\u00e9 les m\u00e9decins. J\u2019ai donc fait de la chimioth\u00e9rapie et de la radioth\u00e9rapie.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span>\u00c0 l\u2019\u00e9tape initiale du diagnostic et lors des premiers jours de traitement, je ne savais pas comment j\u2019allais faire pour composer avec tout cela, encore moins comment j\u2019allais vivre une vie normale. Mais avec le temps, j\u2019ai commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 accepter ma nouvelle r\u00e9alit\u00e9. J\u2019ai pu compter sur mes amis et ma famille, surtout ceux qui avaient v\u00e9cu la m\u00eame exp\u00e9rience \u2013 ils ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u2019une aide immense. Mes amis ont partag\u00e9 avec moi de belles pens\u00e9es, et m\u2019ont offert des cadeaux et des repas. J\u2019\u00e9tais tr\u00e8s touch\u00e9e, car je r\u00e9alisais \u00e0 quel point j\u2019\u00e9tais aim\u00e9e. Ils ont \u00e9t\u00e9 l\u00e0 pour moi jusqu\u2019au bout, et m\u2019ont constamment remont\u00e9 le moral.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span>J\u2019ai les cheveux courts, mais je ne voulais tellement pas devenir chauve. Cet aspect a \u00e9t\u00e9 difficile. Regarder mes cheveux tomber dans la douche, et partout ailleurs, \u00e9tait un rappel que c\u2019\u00e9tait bien vrai\u00a0: j\u2019avais le cancer. Aussi, avoir \u00e0 porter une perruque m\u2019a perturb\u00e9e au d\u00e9but, surtout parce que ma fille allait se marier et je voulais tant avoir une apparence qui me ressemblait. Bien s\u00fbr, je me souciais beaucoup plus de ma sant\u00e9 que de mon apparence physique, mais j\u2019ai \u00e9t\u00e9 in\u00e9vitablement frapp\u00e9e par le changement d\u2019apparence radical. J\u2019avais perdu mes cheveux et mes sourcils et mon teint \u00e9tait p\u00e2le. Quand je me regardais dans le miroir, j\u2019\u00e9tais encore plus accabl\u00e9e tellement je me sentais diff\u00e9rente. J\u2019ai voulu me donner meilleure mine et apprendre comment am\u00e9liorer mon apparence pour le mariage de ma fille. Je me suis donc inscrite \u00e0 un atelier Belle et bien dans sa peau.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span>L\u2019atelier a \u00e9t\u00e9 fabuleux. Quand nous avons abord\u00e9 le sujet des proth\u00e8ses capillaires et qu\u2019une femme \u00e0 la personnalit\u00e9 p\u00e9tillante a enfil\u00e9 une superbe perruque aux cheveux courts, je me suis sentie si inspir\u00e9e. Les animatrices \u00e9taient dou\u00e9es et remplies de compassion. Elles ont parl\u00e9 de leur propre exp\u00e9rience, ce qui a \u00e9tabli une v\u00e9ritable chimie. Je suis repartie avec d\u2019excellents conseils \u2013 perruques, crayons pour les yeux, application du fard \u00e0 joues. Il y a un proverbe qui dit que lorsque vous paraissez bien, vous vous sentez bien, et c\u2019est si vrai.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span>Ma fille s\u2019est mari\u00e9e l\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9 dernier, et j\u2019avais tr\u00e8s belle apparence pour l\u2019occasion. J\u2019avais des cheveux.
